TTC
BUSES
Toronto's Bus Network

The TTC operates a bus route network that spans over 3,000km, serving the entire city of Toronto and even extending into the neighbouring municipalities of Mississauga, Vaughan and Markham. The network includes close to 9,400 stops in Toronto and over 800 outside of Toronto. The daytime bus network connects to 68 of the TTC's 69 subway stations, most connections being made through the use of the 42 bus terminals of various sizes. Many routes also terminate at one of approximately 40 off-street TTC bus loops.
This massive bus route network consists a total of 143 daytime bus routes. Five of these routes are classified as "Downtown Premium Express" routes which require an extra fare to ride, while another 6 are known as "Rocket" express routes. Overnight service is provided across the city as well by 22 overnight bus routes. Bus service is provided anywhere between as frequent as every 2 minutes to every 30 minutes at all times including overnight service. Service on all 170 routes is provided by the TTC's conventional bus fleet which consists of 1,799 buses ranging in age from 1996 to 2011. The entire bus fleet is divided amongst seven garages located around the city which store and provide maintenance services for the conventional bus fleet. The entire bus fleet is fully accessible and bike rack equipped.

Along with the bus route network, the TTC also operates a paratransit bus service known as Wheel-Trans. This door-to-door bus service is provided to customers who have physical mobility issues. The paratransit bus fleet consists of 248 buses ranging in age from 1999 to 2010. The TTC operates a small community bus route network as well that consists of five routes around the city. Most of these routes have service operating on an hourly basis between 9am and 6pm on weekdays only. These routes are used primarily by seniors and those with mobility issues, but all customers are welcome to use them. These five routes are operated with the use of a small fleet of seven buses, all being 1991 and 1992 models except for one 2010 .Garage/Division
